Sorry Cheryl And The MIB3 Premiere In The Sun

How are you then? As I type this, I can see a bright golden orb in the sky above London and it feels slightly warm.

This is good news me thinks? Now where did I put my shorts...

First off have to say how sad it's been, in the past week, to cover the death of both Donna Summer and Bee Gees legend Robin Gibb. I appeared on Sky News Sunrise to talk about Robin, who I was lucky to have interviewed a couple of times. Total gent and musical genius. I was lucky to catch the Bee Gees final Wembley Stadium Concert back in 1997. So, if you get a chance this week- put Donna Summer's Best of and Ultimate Bee Gees on your ipod. Classic tunes!

I also need to apologise to a certain Cheryl Cole this week..! Cheryl looked stunning on the red carpet, on Tuesday, at the premiere of the new Cameron Diaz/JLo/Matthew Morrison film "What to Expect When You're Expecting" in which Cheryl makes a cameo playing a reality tv judge. So the deal was that Cheryl would meet fans (and there were hundreds) and pose for photos but had only agreed to one interview, for BBC News TV. Well, luckily for me, once she saw me, Cheryl agreed to chat to me away from the madness of the red carpet. It's always good to chat to Cheryl and I've been interviewing her for ten years now, since my BBC Radio Wales radio show, for Music Control radio shows days and at Capital for the past 3 years etc. But the thing with Cheryl is, she is SO beautiful that I still get slightly starstruck! So when she went for a hug and I offered to shake her hand, business like, she quite rightly told me off..! I quickly make amends, naturally and got talking about working with Cameron Diaz, her new album and more. So thanks Cheryl and next time- it's a hug,not a handshake..! Let's just say that Dave and Lisa on the Capital London Breakfast show had fun with that audio!

What else, well the Men in Black 3 premiere was a huge Leicester Square affair. Fans went crazy for Will Smith and as ever, Will was cool to talk to. Unlike that Russian showbiz reporter, I did not get a slap on the face, phew..! Rizzle Kicks boys also enjoyed that one after they got the chance to meet their idol and freestyle with him. If you heard the audio of them, post Will, then you'll have heard the definition of excitement!

I also spoke to Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth at the World Premiere of Snow White and The Huntsman. A very good film btw, featuring some amazing British talent like Ray Winstone, Bob Hoskins and Nick Frost. And the World Premiere of The Dictator was a surreal by brilliant event. And Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham-Carter were all briliant to talk to at the premiere and junket for Tim Burton's Dark Shadows. Sacha Baron-Cohen arriving with his all female security personnel on the back of a breakdown truck on London's Southbank was genius. Half the quotes he told me didn't make it on air but let's say that Adele ,Simon Cowell and Dannii Minogue won't be dining with General Aladeen any time soon. Oh and yes, that is my 5 word review on the poster for the movie! That was taken from my twitter review, just fyi which was slightly longer than those five words, honest..! One for the CV.

On Saturday night I had amazing night at Black Eyed Peas' Apl.de.Ap's charity fundraiser night. His foundation in the Phillippines does some amazing work for kids. Around midnight, obviously after completing the filming of 'The Voice' will.i.am arrived and joined Ap on the decks, freestyling some of his big tunes for 30 minutes. Cooler than cool, trust me. Someone also big 16k to hang out with Will in studio and I can confirm that was not me! Oh and thanks the Beeb team for looking after me at The Voice two weeks ago. Great to catch up with Danny from The Script, another band I championed back on the old Music Control show. And for balance, thanks to the ITV press team for an amazing night at Britain's Got Talent. Good to see Alesha but no, I didn't speak to Pudsey.

What else? Well earlier this week I was lucky to have been invited to the launch of Gary Barlow's BBC1 Diamond Jubilee documentary, which airs next wekeend. The documentary follows Gary as he travels to various countries to record his jubilee single "Sing." It's an amazing film directed by Ben Winston and the scenes featuring Prince Charles, Harry and HM the Queen make for some unique and brilliant tv. I sat next to Graham Norton during the screening and said hi to Marcus Collins and managed to chat to Mr Barlow himself. He was on fine form and told me that he couldn't wait to start back on X Factor and also paid a lovely tribute to Robin Gibb. I actually saw Gary and the Take That lads at the Ivor Novello awards just a week ago, where they collected an Outstanding Contribution Award. That was also the day Adele was named Songwriter of the Year and wow, her speech almost set me off again! She loves a good cry, bless her. I also got a massive hug from Ed Sheeran after he won an award for "The A Team" and caught up with some many legends. The moment Sir George Martin brushed past me was one of those moments you think, I love my job!

Oh and thanks for the tweets yesterday after my appearance on Sky News with Kay Burley talking about the importance of the TV remote control! I've also appeared on 5 News in the past few weeks talking JLo and Adele's success and I'm sure Eurovision will keep me busy this week! Good luck to The Hump in Baku...and Jedward!

All that plus partying with Tulisa and Little Mix to celebrate Tulisa's No.1, speaking to her at the FHM Awards, meeting Zac Efron at his premiere, watching some brilliant live shows from Scissor Sisters, Steps and Rita Ora, celebrating her No.1 at a posh Mayfair designer store, speaking to Tinie Tempah about his fashion line, watching new band Lawson play a gig at St Pancras station and presenting my international chart show, I'd say that it's been a busy few weeks! Oh and the news that Michael Jackson Bad 25 is getting released this September naturally excited me...ahem!

Right, enjoy the sun. Maybe I'll see you at Wembley Stadium at Capital's Summertime Ball soon?
