Soulful Jahmene spoke to me backstage at X Factor rehearsals yesterdays and admitted that he's feeling nervous about performing this particular song "I like singing big songs but in the comfort of my own home town and not the X Factor stage. People don't realise how uncomfortable that stage is to sing on, so I hope I can just sing it out.'

Mentor Nicole Scherzinger has also spent extra time with Jahmene this week, when the pair both spent an afternoon at a local Asda store working the aisles, Jahmene's former employment.

'She loved it, she just loved holding the mark-down gun and announced to everyone on the tannoy that everything is half price, if you vote for me –she's hilarious. I can personally say that Nicole is one of my new good friends. She prays with me, texts me, emails me just to make sure that I'm alright with the song and as a person..and she's hilarious all the time.'

Jahmene also revealed to me that he's excited about his new work in support of woman's aid. He told me 'I'm more excited about what I'm doing with woman's aid than I am getting up to sing, cause I'm doing so much stuff, so much changing and so many people have told me that I'm helping them, so it's good.'  And after attending the Pride of Britain Awards earlier this week, Jahmene confirmed that Katy Piper is 'one of the most inspiring woman I've ever met in my life..a beautiful woman. I was more shaken meeting Katy than Samuel L Jackson'
